These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Journal 2 Note web application (the "Service") operated by LK Tech, LLC("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide during registration is accurate and complete.
2. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Specifically:
- Choose a strong, unique password and keep it secret. We store only a bcrypt hash of your password and cannot recover it for you.
- Do not share your credentials with others or allow others to access your account.
- Notify us immediately at info@lktechnology.net if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You are solely responsible for any activity conducted through your account, whether or not authorized by you.
- Note that logging out invalidates only the session on the device from which you log out. If you log in from multiple devices and wish to end all sessions, you must log out from each device individually.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
3.1 Prohibited Content
- Submit, transmit, or store any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.
- Upload any content that infringes the intellectual property rights or privacy of any third party.
- Submit content that constitutes personal data of third parties without their consent.
3.2 Prohibited Conduct
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our infrastructure.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to make excessive API requests or circumvent rate limits or brute-force protections.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related systems without explicit written permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use the Service to transmit spam, phishing messages, or other unsolicited communications.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
3.3 API Capacity
The Service relies on third-party APIs (Anthropic and OpenAI) that have their own usage limits and costs. You agree not to abuse the voice transcription or entry-parsing features in a way that would constitute excessive or automated use beyond normal time-tracking workflows. We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend access to these features to protect service availability for all users.
4. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of LK Tech, LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, logos, or domain names.
You retain ownership of the content you create through the Service (your log entries and transcripts). By submitting content to the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
5. Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability. The Service may be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned outages, third-party API failures (including OpenAI and Anthropic), or events outside our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
6. Data Export and Backup
You are encouraged to export your data regularly using the CSV or JSON export features available within the Service. We make reasonable efforts to maintain data integrity but make no guarantees regarding backup availability. You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of data that is critical to your operations.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we determine that your use poses a risk to the security or integrity of the Service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law.
If you wish to close your account, please contact us at info@lktechnology.net. Because the Service uses soft deletion, your data will be marked inactive rather than immediately erased. See our Privacy Policy for retention details and how to request permanent deletion.
8. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
The Service may rely on AI-generated output (via OpenAI and Anthropic). AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and relying on any parsed entry data produced by the Service.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LK Tech, LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LK Tech, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service, including any content you submit.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including OpenAI, Anthropic, and (when configured) Resend. Your use of these services through the Service is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of any third-party service.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, via an in-app notice or email to the address associated with your account). It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Indiana.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements, representations, or understandings.
